Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) has announced the Top 40 official contestants for its Binibining Pilipinas 2011 pageant.
Those forty (40) Bb. Pilipinas candidates were selected from the Top 50 candidates announced last Tuesday and from 4 more "pahabol" applicants who were screened the following days.
The decision to select 40 instead of the usual 24 was made due to strong line-up of applicants this year.
It's actually generally favorable because it will make Binibining Pilipinas 2011 pageant a lot more exciting. The competition will be really tough and with many candidates competing, the results will be very unpredictable.
I have learned that it was ABS-CBN who came up with the idea of choosing 40 instead of 24. And BPCI agreed.
Thanks ABS-CBN! I was only hoping for 30 to make sure all my favorites will be "in", but they made it 40. Love it!
