Pia Toscano is a huge fan of Charice | Faceoff: Pia and Charice "All By Myself"

Pia Toscano, the American Idol Season 10 finalist who got eliminated last week, has told HollywoodLife.com that she's a huge fan of Pinay singing sensation Charice.

According to the website's article posted Tuesday, Pia Toscano finds Charice as an amazing singer and admits she loves to watch Youtube videos of Charice singing Celine Dion songs.

“Charice Pempengco? She’s the most amazing singer ever. I would absolutely perform with her, she’s insane. When I was covering all of my Celine Dion songs, I would watch her videos. She’s just out-of-this-world amazing and I am such a huge fan of her,” Pia told Hollywood Life.

Now we know where Pia drew inspirations from when she sang "All By Myself" during one of her weekly performances on American Idol Season 10.

In fact, there's a video posted on Youtube last March 12 comparing Pia and Charice's versions of the song. Watch!!!


Pia, who was a strong contender on American Idol Season 10 but unfortunately got eliminated, will be back on the season finale and she reportedly wants to perform a duet with Charice on the finale.

Charice immediately responded to that and said she loves the idea. On Twitter, she said, "@PToscanoAI10 would love to perform with you too. :) you're so sweet."


Wow, let's all hope to see Pia and Charice performing together "All By Myself". (and change the song title to "All By Ourselves").

American Idol eliminates Pia Toscano

American Idol Season 10 Top 9 elimination Thursday night (Friday AM in Manila) was by far the most shocking elimination of the season with Pia Toscano as the one who was voted off the competition.



Stefano Langone was surprised that he's not going home.


Even 'Idol' judge Jennifer Lopez couldn't hide her disappointment upon learning that Pia was the one eliminated following her inclusion in the Bottom 3 with Jacob Lusk and Stefano Langone.

JLo said she's shocked and angry with the results.

I think the 3 judges are now regretful for using the "Save" vote too early for finalist Casey Abrams two weeks ago.

Pia was considered a strong contender, usually ranked in the Top 5 of everyone's list but her elimination shows that there's no such thing in American Idol whose winner is based on the viewers' votes.

And it's kinda obvious that the viewers were favoring the male finalists more than the female ones as Pia is already the 5th consecutive female finalist to be eliminated from American Idol Season 10.

There are only 2 female finalists left in the in the competition, Lauren Alaina and Hailey Reinhart, and the 6 others in the Top 8 are all male who are still in tact since the selection of the Top 13 Finalists.

Shall we expect a male winner this season? Or will it be between Lauren and the "survivor" Hailey?

Thia Megia is 5th least popular on Twitter among the 11 remaining 'Idol' finalists

Thia Megia is only ranked 7th among the Top 11 finalists on American Idol Season 10 if based on the number of Twitter followers.

As of 8:30 am today, the Filipina contestant has 30,299 followers, just 88 short from James Durbin who ranks 6th and has 30,387 followers.

Is the number of Twitter followers a measure of how popular an American Idol finalist is?

In a way, yes, because Hailey and Naima have the least followers, and during the previous 2 weeks, they were in the Bottom 3 of the competition.

However, it's not always the case as Casey Abrams, who has the 2nd highest number of followers, had the lowest number of votes from the viewers for this week and both Hailey and Naima were not part of the Bottom 3.

Anyone of them still has equal chances of winning American Idol.

And for Thia, the youngest finalist, I hope she survives 'til the end of the competition.

Thia Megia stays on American Idol, Karen Rodriguez gets voted off!

Fil-Am Thia Megia is still competing strong on American Idol Season 2 despite a not so good performance last Wednesday episode.

The Top 12 finalists were asked to sing a song popularized on the year they were born and she sang the 1995 hit "Colors of the Wind", an Oscar-winning song from Disney's Pocahontas and was interpreted by Vanessa Williams.

But unfortunately, the judges didn't like it much. They found it boring.

Luckily though, Megia didn't end up in the Bottom 3 during the results night on Thursday.

The 3 finalists who garnered the least number of votes from the viewers were Haley Reinhart, Naima Adedapo and Karen Rodriguez.

In the end, it was Karen who got voted off.

Karen was actually Mykiru's lowest-ranked finalist last week. Check it HERE.

American Idol Season 10: Mykiru's current Top 8 ranking

American Idol Season 10 eliminated yesterday Ashthon Jones who failed to impress with her rendition of Diana Ross' "When You Tell Me That You Love Me".

From Top 13, the American Idol finalists are now down to 12, with our very own Thia Megia still in the competition.

However, Thia gave a so-so performance of "Smile" last Wednesday. Though she wasn't part of the Bottom 3, Thia might be in danger next week if she continues to give an average performance.

That's why, on Mykiru's Current Top 8 for the week, Thia isn't part of it, but I'm hoping she'll level up her performance next week.

On top of my ranking is Casey Abrams who was amazing on his version of "With A Little Help From My Friends". I just wish his health problems won't affect his upcoming performances.

During the results night, Casey wasn't able to show up because he was hospitalized due to stomach aches caused by ulcer.
