Friendster Exporter App. extended until June 27

Friendster announced in April that it will have a grand make-over and advised its users to export their profile and photos until May 31.

A lot of Friendster users made a rush yesterday thinking it was already the last day of exporting their profile.

It's already June 1 and still we're seeing the same Friendster website, and that's because Friendster has extended its Exporter Application until June 27.

"The Exporter app will be available for an additional month, until June 27. If you need help on how to use the Exporter app, head over to the Friendster help page," says the Friendster Bulletin posted on Monday.

So if you haven't exported your profile and photos yet, you have 27 days more to do that.

When you start exporting your profile, you'll receive an e-mail notification which looks like this:

"Hurray! Your profile is ready for download!

Reminder: You now have full responsibility for this copy of your profile. We advise caution in saving, sending and uploading this file. Do not share to just anyone.
After 7 days, the download will no longer be available, but you can request a new one using the application.

Thank you for using Friendster!

Who among you here has already exported his or her Friendster Profile? Was it hard? I actually find it hard to use the Exporter Application. I can't open the zip file provided by Friendster as I download my profile. Hope you guys won't experience the same.

The Miami Heat has won the NBA Finals 2011 Opening Game held Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida and was aired live on ABS-CBN.

The Dallas Mavericks led the 1st Quarter of the game by scoring 17 points vs Miami
Heat's 16 points. They tied during the 2nd quarter, both scoring big 27 points.

But it was in the 3rd and 4th quarters that Miami Heat took control with a 9-point lead over the Dallas Mavericks.

Over-all, Miami Heat scored 92 points while Dallas Mavericks had 84 points.

With 27 points, German player Dirk Nowitzi of the Dallas Mavericks was the top scorer for the NBA Finals 2011 Game 1. But it wasn't enough to beat the Miami Heat, who definitely benefited from the strong trio of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

LeBron scored 24 points (half-of-which were from his four 3-point shots), Wade had 22 points while Bosh's score was 19 points.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals 2011: Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat is scheduled on Thursday, June 2, still at Miami's American Airlines Arena.

Sean Kingston Jet Ski Accident: Justin Bieber, Chris Brown tweet messages of support for Kingston

Sean Kingston met a jet ski accident Sunday. Fellow artist and friend Justin Bieber has asked his Twitter followers to pray for Sean Kingston.

Sean Kingston is in critical condition after a jet ski accident Sunday night, May 29, 2011, at the Palm Island Bridge in Miami Beach, Florida, USA.

According to a CNN report, Sean Kingston was piloting the watercraft when it crashed a Miami Beach bridge which injured Sean and an unidentified female passenger.

They were rushed to the Jackson-Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and as of latest update from Kingston's publicist thru CNN, he's now stabilized and has been moved to the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU).

Kingston's fellow artists have posted on Twitter their messages of support for him, such as Justin Bieber who collaborated with Sean Kingston for the song "Eenie Meenie".

Steph Ayson was caught on Twitter posting about a recent date with someone only one month after the death of her boyfriend AJ Perez.

While Bagyong Chedeng was causing heavy rains in Metro Manila last Wednesday, May 25, Steph tweeted: "Oh Chedeng...You are ruining my date with @Qfilart", which sounded not so good to some AJ Perez' fans coz they thought Steph has found a new bf after AJ, who just died last month.

But Steph was quick to clarify that @Qfilart is not a new BF (boyfriend) but a girl BF (best friend) and the fans have nothing to worry about. "No no no. @Qfilart is one of my best girl friends. She's a great friend of ours! (AJ and I) HAHAHA Hindi siya guy!"

And then she made fun of the moment when she posted, "You people are so funny! Hahahah! Wait, ha. @Qfilart is on HER way here. I'll check if SHE's really a GIRL. Balitaan ko kayo. HAHAHA"

On MEGA cover this June 2011 are Danica Magpantay, Charlene Almarvez and Charo Ronquillo, Pinay supermodels who represented the Philippines in the Ford Models' Supermodel of the World competition.

And all three of them finished winners.

Charo was 2nd Runner Up in the 2006 competition, Charlene was 1st Runner Up in 2010 and just this year, Danica won the title, the first Pinay to win the Ford Supermodels of the World title.

Chae Dong Ha suicide shocks!

South Korean singer Chae Dong Ha has committed suicide Friday morning, May 27, 2011.






According to a Korean website, Chae Dong Ha (photo) was found dead at his home this morning and he was believed to have committed suicide.

The report also stated that Chae Dong Ha (채동하) has been suffering depression which possibly led to his suicide.

Chae Dong Ha is only 29 years old and is turning 30 in less than a month from now (June 23).

He was a member of a K-pop group called "SG Wannabe" from 2004 to 2008 and since then, he was proving his worth as a solo artist until his untimely death.

Chae Dong Ha's suicide comes as a big shock as it happened only 3 days after the suicide of Song Ji-seon, a sports announcer on South Korean channel MBC.

According to a Washington Post report last year, South Korea has the highest suicide rate in the world.

In 2009 and 2010, Mykiru Isyusero was able to blog about the suicides of two celebrities from South Korea: "Boys Over Flowers" actress Jang Ja-Yeon and "Winter Sonata" actor Park Yong Ha.

And when talking about South Korean celebs who committed suicide, the list is becoming endless.

"Kung Fu Panda 2" showtimes at SM Megamall

Kung Fu Panda 2 has opened in Philippine theaters starting yesterday, May 26, 2011, and according to those who were the first to watch it yesterday, Kung Fu Panda 2 is truly a fun film to watch (especially on 3D).

If you're from Metro Manila and you're planning to watch Po and his Kung Fu friends in this "Kung Fu Panda" sequel, try it out at SM MegaMall where you can watch the film not in 2 or 3 theaters, but in 5 out of its 12 theaters with different showtimes.

That means, if you failed to catch it on a particular showtime in one SM MegaMall Cinema, try it out on other SM MegaMall theaters which have different showtimes of Kung Fu Panda 2.

The movie has been given a GP rating by the MTRCB, meaning everyone in the family could watch this animal adventure animated film.

Bagyong Chedeng (Typhoon Songda) is moving away!

Bagyong Chedeng (internationally knowned as Typhoon Songday) has changed its direction and is now heading to Japan.

This morning's update from PAGASA showed that Bagyong Chedeng (Typhoon Songda) will no longer have its landfall in the country, as shown on PAGASA's track of its position in the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

It's still the case this afternoon based on the latest update from PAGASA, released 5PM Thursday, as Typhoon "CHEDENG" continues to move northwestward.

As of 4:00 p.m., Chedeng is now located at 260 km, North Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes in Bicol or 300 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora in the Visayas with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.

From Signal #2, it's now just Signal No. 1 in Catanduanes and Camarines Sur and still #1 in Albay, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Quirino, Quezon Provinces, Polillo Island, Cagayan and Isabela.

No more storm signal warning for Sorsogon, Marinduque, Burias Island, Ticao Island, Masbate, Biliran and Samar.

Tomorrow afternoon (Friday), Chedeng is expected to be 320 km Northeast of Casiruran, Aurora or 200 km East Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan.

Probably by Sunday morning, Chedeng is already gone here in the country.

"In The Name Of Love" posts P89.87 million gross revenues in 2 weeks

"In The Name of Love", produced by Star Cinema and stars Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin, managed to earn P42.56 million during its 2nd week despite facing a "giant" Hollywood movie in the box-office.

According to Box Office Mojo's latest box-office tally, Walt Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" earned a record-breaking P63.14-million gross revenues for its first weekend in the Philippines, an impressive earning in only 3 days (May 20 to 22, 2011).

It's already the highest opening weekend sales for any movie in the country this 2011, beating the previous record by another Hollywood film "Thor" which had 59.74 during its first weekend.

Among local films, Star Cinema's "Catch Me I'm In Love" posted the highest opening weekend with P52.95-million.

Adding P42.56M to its 1st 5-day gross the previous week (May 11-15), "In The Name Of Love" now has an accumulated 12-day total of P89.87M as of May 22, the 2nd highest-grossing Pinoy film so far this 2011, and definitely will pass the P100M mark.

For its 3rd week, "In The Name of Love" is now facing two giants: "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tide" and the new release "Kung Fu Panda 2".

American Idol Season 10 winner is Scotty McCreery

American Idol Season 10 has crowned its winner and it's no other than Scotty McCreery during the finale results night held Wednesday, May 25, 2011.

As announced by Idol host Ryan Seacrest, the finale got a record of 122 million votes, with most of the votes received by 17-year-old Scotty McCreery from Garner, North Carolina.

Scotty is now the 10th winner of American Idol, the 6th male to win the said popular singing competition in the US.

Lauren Alaina, 16, was the Season's Runner Up.

The American Idol Season 10 finale was a star-studded one, featuring performances from Beyonce, Tom Jones, Tim McGraw, Jack Black, Carrie Underwood, Bono, The Edge, TLC, Lil Jon, Kirk Franklin, Tony Bennett and JLo's hubby Marc Anthony.

American Idol Season 10 Finale Performances (videos)

American Idol Season 10 is now on its 2nd to the last episode, with tonight's epi featuring the finale performances of the Final 2: Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.

The face-off of Scotty, 17, and Lauren, 16, are considered the youngest face-off ever on American Idol, but definitely they're not the least when it comes to vocal prowess.

For their finale performances, Scotty and Lauren had to sing 3 songs each: one is their favorite song, another is a song picked by their musical idol (George Strait for Scotty, Carrie Underwood for Lauren) and lastly, an original composition by Jimmy Iovine which will be their first single.

Sotty McCreery first sang his favorite song "Gone" by Montgomery Gentry, then "Check Yes or No" chosen for him by George Strait and finally "Love You This Big", while Lauren performed Katrina Elam's "Flat On The Floor", then the song "Maybe It Was Memphis" by Pam Tillis picked by Carrie Underwood and "Like My Mother Does" for her 3rd song.

Joplin, Missouri could be hit by more tornadoes

Joplin, Missouri was recently hit by a deadly tornado last Sunday, which is being considered as the deadliest single U.S. tornado ever recorded.

Over a hundred Joplin, Missouri people were killed (124 as of latest update) and this is sad, more tornadoes possible for Joplin, Missouri according to a CNN report.

CNN is also reporting about Will Norton, a high school graduate who has been missing since tornado struck Joplin, Missouri last Sunday.

PAGASA: Bagyong Chedeng intensifies, now Signal No. 2 in Catanduanes

Tropical Storm Chedeng has strengthened and signal warning has been raised for the province of Catanduanes in Bicol.

According to PAGASA's latest bulletin, 11 PM Tuesday, May 24, 2011, Bagyong Chedeng is now located 20 km East of Catarman, Northen Samar and has a maximum sustained winds of 115 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph.

Storm signal warning has been raised from No. 1 to No. 2 in Catanduanes, while Signal #1 for these areas / provinces: Albay, Burias Island, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Samar Provinces, Sorsogon and Ticao Island.

Based on forecast, Chedeng is located at 150 km North of Virac, Catanduanes by Wednesday evening, in the vicinity of Isabela, Cagayan on Thursday evening and at 80 km West of Basco, Batanes by Friday night.

The next bulletin / update for Bagyong Chedeng will be issued at 5AM today.

Mikael Daez photo scandal comes out

Mikael Daez alleged photo scandal has hit the web more than a month after he was rumored having such on the internet last April.

The photo scandal shows a guy who looks so much like Mikael Daez videotaping his own naked self.

Mikael Daez's alleged photo scandal was first uploaded this morning via the blog Fashion Pulis!.

The blog author himself is unsure if the guy in the photo scandal is really Mikael Daez or just photoshopped to make it appear he was doing a scandalous thing.

Mikael Daez is a 23-year-old model who successfully made a shift to acting just recently when he played Marian Rivera's leading man on GMA 7's Spooky Nights Presents: Bampirella and soon on the epicserye "Amaya".

He's also making his big debut in the movies via the 2011 remake of "Temptation Island" which will be shown this June.

Bagyong Chedeng may be as strong as Milenyo - PAGASA

Bagyong Chedeng is now being felt in the country as heavy rains pour in some parts of the country.

According to PAGASA on its bulletin this morning, 11 AM, Bagyong Chedeng with international codename Songda has already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and GMA News quoted PAGASA stating that Chedeng is threatening to hit the Philippines as a "super typhoon" in the same strength as Bagyong Milenyo.

Bagyong Milenyo which registered a strength up to Signal #3 struck the Philippines in September 2006 with at least 213 people were killed. Areas greatly affected by Milenyo were Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon Province, Cavite, Albay, Antique and the Northern Samar.

Let's all hope and pray that it's not gonna happen with the new typhoon amazingly named Chedeng (which sounds like it's gonna surprise us) when it made its landfall by Friday afternoon in Northern Luzon.

PAGASA said that at 10 AM on Monday, May 23, Chedeng is located 795 kms East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar and has a maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph.

By Wednesday morning, that's tomorrow, Bagyong Chedeng is in 360 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, then in 265 km North Northeast of Virac, Cantanduanes or 250 km East of Casiguran, Aurora by Thursday, based on the weather forecast by PAGASA released today.

PAGASA also added that Chedeng signals the start of the rainy season.

CPA Board Exam Result May 2011 - Certified Public Accountant 2011 Results released!

CPA Board Exam Results for May 2011 or the results for the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination taken last May 15, 16, 22 and 23, 2011 have been released today, May 24, 2011, by the PRC.

Out of 5,259 examinees, 2,130 or 40.5% have passed the CPA Board Exam, a slight increase in passing percentage when compared to the May 2010 CPA Board Exam Results (39.52%).

Andrew Wolff is Showtime's new "hurado"

Andrew Wolff is one of the two new judges or "hurado" on ABS-CBN's Showtime this week, starting today, Monday, May 23.

Last Saturday, two judges were eliminated or were made "burado" and they were Green Rose actor Janus del Prado and Mara Clara star Kiray Celis, after getting more than 25% EVICT votes.

The two judges left were Ryan Bang, who's now on his 30th week as Showtime judge, and Regine Angeles on her 3rd week.




It was Andrew Wolff himself who made the spoiler on Twitter when he posted yesterday:

@iamandrewwolff: "Guys, confirm na po. Hurado po ako bukas sa #Showtime First time po akong kakanta sa harap ng mga tao! Pasensya na kung hindi maganda! :p"

Andrew, who's considered among the "yummiest models" in the country, also shared on Twitter how excited he is to sing live and dance like Justin Timberlake for the Madlang Pipol, which he will be doing for the very first time.

But Andrew immediately deleted that post last night. (Probably he was told to delete it so as not to spoil the show's episode today.)

Unfortunately, I was able to read it last night haha.

Andrew Wolff as Showtime judge could be an early promotion for the movie "Private Benjamin" topbilled by Showtime resident judge Vice Ganda and also stars Andrew Wolff.

Earthquake hits Mindoro, Philippines on May 23

Another strong earthquake has rocked the Philippines today only 27 hours after the 5.5-magnitude earthquake in Ilagan, Isabela on Saturday evening, May 21, 2011.

Based on the latest earthquake information provided by PHIVOLCS, the new Philippine earthquake of 5.7 magnitude occurred Monday, May 23, 2011, at 12:42 AM with epicentre in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

The quake was strongly felt in Batangas, and also rattled some parts of Metro Manila.

The earthquake had a magnitude 5.3 with epicenter at General Santos City.

Weather Update from PAG-ASA on Typhoon Chedeng (Tropical Storm Songda)

PAG-ASA has released a bulletin 5PM on Sunday stating a weather forecast that Tropical Storm Songda (locally named Chedeng) might enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Sunday night or Monday morning.

Based on the bulletin posted on PAG-ASA's official website, at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Tropical Storm Songda (Bagyong Chedeng) was estimated at 1,050 km East of Northern Mindanao,(10.0°N, 136.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

It's being forecast to move West Northwest at 11 kph.

while this one is the latest satellite image, as of 1 AM today, Monday (May 23) and Chedeng is indeed coming near to our country:




Also notice that Chedeng has a wide reach, and appears bigger than the whole Philippines. Kinda scary!

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 7th & 8th Grand Finalists: John Michael Narag and Filogram

Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2 7th and 8th Grand Finalists were named tonight, May 22, 2011, and they are 16-year-old singer John Michael Narag from Pangasinan and the dance group Filogram from Baguio City.

It was PGT Season 2's Semi-Finals Week 4 with 2 more acts were chosen to advance to the Grand Finals.

John Michael Narag, who sang "Open Arms" on Saturday's Performance Night, got the highest number of votes, 31.85%, becoming the 7th Grand Finalist of the Season.

Filogram and Next Generation Band, who got the 2nd and 3rd highest votes respectively, had to compete again for the 8th grand finalist slot, and the judges unamimously voted for Filogram.

Joplin, Missouri Tornado hits hard, but St. Mary's Catholic Church's cross still standing strong

In Joplin, Missouri (MO.), USA, a tornado has ravaged the city on Sunday evening, May 22, 2011, but the cross at Joplin's St. Mary's Catholic Church was still standing strong, steady and undamaged.

It just shows that God is great indeed, a message that God will provide strength, He will always be there standing for His people no matter what happened.

In an AFP report Monday, at least 24 people were killed in the Joplin, Missouri Tornado, which directly struck a hospital, the St. John Regional Medical Center, with its roof being ripped off and the patients had to be evacuated.

It's not confirmed though in the report if the 24 killed were patients from the hospital, but it says that schools and business establisments were also severely damaged.

US President Barack Obama has released a statement expressing his sympathy to the victims' families:

We commend the heroic efforts by those who have responded and who are working to help their friends and neighbours at this very difficult time. At my direction, FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) is working with the affected areas' state and local officials to support response and recovery efforts, and the federal government stands ready to help our fellow Americans as needed."

Harold Camping Epic Fail: May 21 Rapture predictions went wrong

Camping's prediction that May 21, 2011 is Judgment Day, turned out so wrong.

Harold Camping failed already when he predicted End of the World in 1994, and for his 2nd try, which could have been his redeeming moment, Camping failed again in predicting the End of the World.

Camping predicted May 21 as the Rapture, that a select people will be taken to heaven while the others will be left to suffer until October 21, 2011. He also predicted that a strong earthquake will hit New Zealand at 6PM on May 21.

It's already May 22 in all parts of the world, and yet, nothing happened to all of us.

He was right though that a strong earthquake will rock New Zealand again after the destructive February 2011 quake. The country's Kermadec Island was struck by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake, but it happened May 22, 9AM (New Zealand time) and not 6PM, May 21.

If adjusted to the time zone of where Camping is currently based (California), the New Zealand earthquake occurred 2 PM on May 21.

International Business Times (IBTimes) has reported that Harold Camping is already missing now that his May 21, 2011 Rapture / Judgement Day predictions failed.

What will happen now to those who believed in Camping's predictions, those who quit from their jobs, those who sold their possessions and those who spent all their money believing May 21 was really the End of the World?

Riza Santos is Miss World Canada 2011 winner

Riza Santos won as Miss World Canada 2011 and will represent Canada in the Miss World 2011 happening on November 8 in London.






The crowning of 23-year-old half-Filipina Riza Santos as Miss World Canada 2011 was held Thursday, May 19, at the River Rock Show Casino Show Theatre in Richmond, British Columbia with Riza Santos winning over 21 other Canadian candidates.

Riza succeeded Denise Garrido who in Miss World 2010 was among the Top 25 Semi-Finalists.

In 2006, Riza already competed as Miss Canada in the Miss Earth pageant which was held here in the Philippines.

She won as Miss Photogenic but failed to enter the semis. However, it paved the way for her to become a famous showbiz personality in the Philippines.

Riza joined Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 and finished as 2nd Big Placer.

On her profile at MissWorldCanada.org, stated there that Riza was the lead actress of a Philippine blockbuster movie. They're referring to the movie "Dobol Trobol: Let's Get Redi to Rambol" where Riza played leading lady to Vic Sotto.

Riza is currently an Engineering student at the University of Calgary's Schulich School of Engineering in Alberta, Canada.
