It's no longer a surprise when GMA 7 revealed the names of the castaways of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown.
They revealed all the names last August 13 but it turned out be just a confirmation of the list which leaked exactly a week before (August 6) and it was 100% correct. (Read: 18 Castaways of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown)
And indeed one of the castaways is 23-year-old Ahron Villena, who's one of the many ex-Kapamilya who have gone Kapuso lately.
He started out on ABS-CBN's MTB: Ang Saya Saya as a contestant in "TV Idol: Ur D' Man" where he was the grand winner with AJ Dee, J.E. Sison, Marc Cortez and Kiko Matos as his runners up. That was in 2004 and the same year, he was cast in the drama series "Hiram" as the other leading man of Heart Evangelista and rival to Geoff Eigenmann.
(Interesting no? Heart, Geoff and Ahron are all now in the Kapuso station.)
After Hiram, nothing much happened to him except an important role in "Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Bud Brothers" in 2009 and among the cast of the topgrossing film "One More Chance" in 2007.
Before Jake Cuenca, Gerald Anderson and Jason Abalos become primetime leading men and got meaty projects, there was Ahron Villena waiting for his big big break, but it didn't happen.
And now that he is in the Kapuso network as one of the castaways of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown, I'm hoping that Ahron will finally get the big break that he deserves.
Is Ahron the next primetime leading man of GMA 7? That's very possible!
